In this piece of writing I will take a little detour, I will focus on the individual; I do not do that often, But I really nice to see someone from the dusty street making it big with the top dogs.
Bongani Sam, a Port Elizabeth born defender who is now playing for PSL team Bloemfontein Celtic proved that dedication and working hard pays off.
Sam started his football career at the ABC Mostepe league he was playing for Lion City at the time, he then joined Nedbank Ke Yona team, As a winning package players are sent to one of the 16 PSL teams, Sam had an opportunity to train with Bloemfontein Celtic in order to gain experience in the professional football.
He was loaned to Highlands Park while in was still in the NFD league, he played a huge role in helping the team to go to the PSL. He then joined Celtics for the 2018/19 PSL season.
I will make it a point that I follow this 20 year old closely, I want to see what is next for him and his career. Maybe he will be signed by one of the biggest clubs in PSL.
